About me

Hi my name is Marlena Dachnowicz and you're about to enter my world of paintings and sketches!

I'm one of those ''inspired by Turner'' artists and I'm not ashamed of it. He has been my favourite artist since I was 15... Probably because of the way he shows light in his paintings... Ever since I found out about him, I've been trying to recreate the feeling in my own paintings, not in the same way and not even a similar way, but in a way that's unique to my own style. Right now I'm still searching for the most effective way to show it. Some of my paintings show more light than others, some are admired by people and some are hated by me and hidden in my room, but all of them are a part of my journey, if not as an artist, then at least as a painter.
Painting has always been a part of my life, from my childhood in Poland, through my teenage years in London and hopefully until I'm an old lady.
In London I did my Art GCSE at Chestnut Grove and managed to get an A in it (YAY!), at A-level I decided that doing art as a subject would leave me with even less time to do my own artwork - Art A-level is very time consuming, so instead I went for Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Polish.
My spare time was dedicated to singing, ice skating, tutoring and (obviously) painting!

I hope you enjoy looking at my paintings as much as I enjoy painting them (that's "very much").

Thanks!
